As a member of 1% for the Planet, Rose Pause commits to contributing at least 1% of our annual sales to environmental causes. Giving back is part of how we do business, from the beginning.

Our teas connect us to the landscapes of China and the generations who have grown, gathered and crafted tea. We give to honor that connection and help care for the natural world that sustains it.
Supporting conservation through TNC
We have chosen The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a U.S.-based global conservation nonprofit, as our giving recipient. Its science-based approach and long-standing conservation work where our teas originate align with our commitment to care for nature.
Accountability behind our commitment
Through its annual certification process, 1% for the Planet reviews members’ revenue and contribution records to verify that they meet their commitment to contribute at least 1% of annual sales to environmental causes.

Caring for nature, from forests to communities.
Tea is part of a wider living world. Healthy soil, clean water, biodiversity and the people who tend the land all matter.
Explore some of TNC’s work with local partners to care for that world.
Restoring forests
Healthy forests support biodiversity, protect soil and help regulate water. TNC works with partners to restore native forests and improve forest management, helping sustain the ecosystems that people and wildlife depend on.
Reviving rivers
Water connects mountain landscapes with the communities downstream. In the Chishui River basin, TNC supports collaborative efforts to reconnect waterways and restore habitats for native fish and other freshwater life.
Protecting wildlife
Protecting wildlife begins with protecting the places it calls home. In Sichuan, TNC works with partners to conserve giant panda habitat, helping safeguard forests that shelter many other species, too.
Supporting communities
Lasting conservation depends on the people who live closest to the land. TNC works alongside communities and local partners, bringing local knowledge and participation into efforts to care for nature and support local livelihoods.
