Tea Types & Basics
Explore Flower Tea, Blooming Tea, Pu-erh Tea, Green Tea and Black Tea, from whole blossoms and hand-tied blooms to fragrant leaves and mellow aged tea. There is a cup for every kind of pause.
Herbal tea, also called a tisane, is an infusion of flowers, herbs or fruit. Traditional teas such as green, black and pu-erh come from the tea plant. Our collection brings both into your daily ritual, with caffeine-free and caffeinated choices.
Our flower teas are made from blossoms and are naturally caffeine-free. Our blooming teas combine black tea and flowers in hand-tied bundles that open as they steep. Because they contain black tea, our blooming teas naturally contain caffeine.
Green tea is lightly processed to preserve its fresh, delicate character. Black tea undergoes fuller oxidation, developing richer, often malty or honeyed flavors. Both naturally contain caffeine; the difference is in the craft and the cup.
Pu-erh is a tea shaped by fermentation and aging. Raw pu-erh develops gradually with age; ripe pu-erh undergoes accelerated fermentation for a mellow, earthy cup. For example, our Sticky Rice Pu-erh pairs six-year-aged ripe tea with the comforting aroma of sticky rice herb.
Single-origin means a tea comes from one growing region, with a character shaped by its soil, climate and traditions. For instance, our Treasured Rose comes from Pingyin, where the local rose variety gives the cup its distinctive honeyed aroma and softly sweet floral character.
Ingredients & Quality
We source directly from long-established producers in China’s distinctive tea and flower-growing regions. For example, our Jasmine Snow and Orchid Whisper come from Mengding Mountain, whose teas were offered to China’s imperial court for over a thousand years. Each selection reflects its origin’s soil, climate, and generations of craftsmanship.
Many of our teas are grown using organic and sustainable farming practices, although formal certification varies among our producers. We source directly from long-established growers and tea makers in each tea’s home region, many of whom have passed down their craft through generations.
No. None of our teas contain artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. The flavors and aromas come from the ingredients themselves.
No. None of our teas contain added sugar or sweeteners. Enjoy their natural character, from Treasured Rose's honeyed floral aroma to the comforting rice fragrance of Sticky Rice Pu-erh.
Real flowers. For example, our Jasmine Snow and Orchid Whisper green teas undergo six rounds of fresh-flower scenting. The leaves absorb the blossoms' fragrance, bringing layered floral aroma to every cup.
Sweetness can be part of a plant's natural character. For example, our Treasured Rose has a honeyed floral aroma, while Sticky Rice Pu-erh gets its comforting rice aroma from sticky rice herb. These tasting notes describe what you experience in the cup.
Yes. Our teas are plant-based, vegan, and gluten-free, so you can enjoy your daily ritual with ingredients that fit your preferences.
Our founder, a tea sommelier, selects each tea for its distinctive character, balanced flavor, and smooth finish. Years of tasting and sourcing across China guide every choice, bringing a practiced eye—and palate—to our collection.

Daily Enjoyment
For most healthy adults, tea can be a lovely everyday habit. Start with a serving of your favorite, follow its brewing directions, and choose ingredients and caffeine levels that suit you. A ritual you enjoy is easier to return to.
Pair your tea with a moment you already enjoy: breakfast, an afternoon break, or your evening wind-down. Keep your favorite tea and cup close by. A few minutes, fresh water and a tea you enjoy are enough to begin.
Start with one serving prepared as directed, then enjoy the recommended repeat infusions. Your ideal amount depends on the tea, brew strength and caffeine from other drinks. Let comfort and enjoyment guide your routine rather than aiming for a fixed cup count.
Please check with your healthcare provider before introducing a new tea during pregnancy or breastfeeding, including caffeine-free botanicals. Share the ingredient list so they can advise on the right choice for you.
For a child, start by asking their pediatrician about the specific ingredients in a caffeine free tea. Caffeinated teas are best reserved for adults.
Some tea and botanical ingredients can interactwith medication. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about your chosen tea, using the full ingredient list on its product page.
Check the ingredient list and avoid any known allergens. If you have a plant or pollen allergy, ask your allergist about the specific flower or botanical. For ingredient questions, email hello@rosepause.com before ordering.
Brewing & Recipes
Add your tea to a cup or teapot, pour in fresh hot water, and steep according to the product directions. For whole flowers and blooming teas, choose clear glass and let the unfolding bloom become part of the experience.
Each tea has its own sweet spot, so follow the temperature and steeping time on its product page or packaging. Use these as your starting point, then adjust the strength to your taste.
A heat-safe cup or teapot is all you need. For loose-leaf tea, an infuser makes brewing easy; clear glass lets you enjoy every unfolding bloom. Our Clarity Infuser Mug brings both into one simple daily ritual.
Yes. Our whole-flower teas can be steeped up to three times, while selected blooming teas and pu-erh offer up to five infusions. Add fresh water and enjoy how the flavor unfolds. See each product's brewing guide for details.
Absolutely. Brew as directed, then pour over ice or cool and refrigerate for a refreshing cup. For instance, try Jasmine Snow for a fragrant iced tea. Use slightly less brewing water when pouring over ice to keep the flavor beautifully balanced.
Yes. A few ideas: try Treasured Rose with honey, black tea with milk, or fresh fruit in your iced tea. Add a squeeze of lemon to Butterfly Pea and watch its brilliant blue turn purple. A small addition can make the cup your own.
Yes, with ingredients that suit you. For example, try a little Treasured Rose with Royal Chrysanthemum for a layered floral cup. Start small and follow compatible brewing directions; adding tea leaves also adds caffeine.
There’s more to tea than a warm cup. Try it in:
• Tea-infused cakes, desserts, and syrups.
• Lattes, sparkling teas, cocktails, and mocktails.
• Tea ice cubes and refreshing frozen treats.
Try Jasmine Snow in sparkling tea or Butterfly Pea in a color-changing lemon mocktail. Explore our blog for recipes and brewing inspiration.
Serving counts are listed on each product page, and many of our teas can be steeped more than once. For example, our Signature Bloom Trio contains nine servings. With up to three steeps per serving, that’s up to 27 infusions from one tin.
Follow the recommended brewing directions, then adjust the strength to your taste. If you leave the flowers or leaves in your cup or teapot, top up with fresh hot water while about half the brewed tea remains. This helps keep the flavor consistent as you sip.
Storage & Freshness
Store your tea in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and strong odors. Keep the packaging closed between uses and follow any product-specific storage directions.
Shelf life varies by tea. Delicate flower and green teas are best enjoyed fresh for their vibrant aromas, while pu-erh can continue to mature under suitable storage conditions. Follow the best-before date and storage guidance on your package, especially for blends.
Enjoy repeat infusions during the same tea session, adding fresh hot water each time. Saving tea for later? Strain the brewed liquid, cool it promptly and refrigerate in a clean, covered container. Start a later session with a fresh portion.
